Managing Order of Custom Variables
Grouping and Reordering Custom Variables in EnrollNow
Grouping and reordering custom variables helps your team organize participant information and makes frequently used fields easier to find on the Participant Profile Card.
NOTE:

To change the order or grouping of custom variables, go to Study Settings → Requirements. These changes can only be made in this section, but all changes are reflected on the Participant Profile Card.

Changes to the order or grouping of custom variables apply site-wide and are visible to all users.
Grouping Custom Variables
Groups allow you to organize custom variables based on your team’s needs.

Create a Group
- Click New Group on the right side of the custom variable list.
- Enter a name for the group.

Add Variables to a Group
You can create a new variable within a group or move an existing variable into it:

- Create a new variable: Click Add a New Variable in This Group.
- Add an existing variable: Click Add Existing Variable, then select the variable from the drop-down list.

To add an existing variable to a group, click and hold the reorder handle. In the pop-up window, select the group name from the drop-down list to assign the variable to that group.

Rename a Group

Click the pencil icon next to the group name to edit it.

Delete a Group

Remove or delete all custom variables from the group. Once the group is empty, click the red trash can icon to delete it.

- Easier navigation: Organize a large list of custom variables into groups so your team can quickly find the information they need.
- Related information together: Group similar variables to make reviewing information on the Participant Profile Card easier.
- Cleaner layout: Display variables in an organized, condensed list that reduces visual clutter.
Reordering Custom Variables or Groups
You can now drag and drop custom variables to customize the order in which they appear on Participant Profile Cards in EnrollNow.
How to Reorder Custom Variables
- Navigate to Study Settings and locate the custom variable list.
- Click the six dots to the left of the variable or group you want to move until the hand appears.
- Click and hold the variable, then drag it up or down to the desired position. Use your mouse scroll or keyboard arrows to navigate the list as needed.
- Release the mouse to drop the variable into place.
The updated order will appear on all Participant Profile Cards for that study.
