New Enhancements

Survey Logic Display Names (RI-6756)

Updated Survey Creator to display question and option titles rather than system-generated values or IDs within logic statements, making logic statements easier to understand and review.

Reorder Email and Text Templates (RI-6446)

Study Administrators can now drag and drop email and text templates to change the order in which they appear. The order configured in Study Settings will also be used when users select a template to send an email or text message to a participant. This allows teams to place frequently used templates at the top of the list.

Reorder Surveys in Survey Creator (RI-6180)

Study Administrators can now drag and drop surveys in Survey Creator to change their display order. The selected order will also be used when users choose a survey for a participant, making commonly used surveys easier to locate.

Import Negative Numbers into Numeric Variables (RI-6455)

Users can now import negative numbers into standard numeric variables and numeric custom variables. This improvement applies to both the Import Tool and the import API.

Survey Descriptions (RI-6876)

Study Administrators can now add an optional description to each survey. The description appears with the survey in the Survey Creator list and can help teams more easily identify the purpose of surveys with similar names.

Study Display Settings Included in Study Imports and Exports (RI-6843)

Study Display Settings are now included when a Study Definition is exported and imported.

These settings determine which variables appear as columns in the Potential Participants and Enrolled Participants lists. When these settings are imported into another study, the selected participant-list columns will also be included, reducing the amount of manual setup required.

Improved Survey Creator Save Experience (RI-6816)

Survey Creator now includes clearer options for saving changes and helps prevent users from accidentally leaving the page without saving their work.

When editing survey settings, users must now select Save Settings to apply their changes or Discard Changes to cancel them.

If a user attempts to leave Survey Creator with unsaved changes to the survey or its settings, EnrollNow will display a reminder to save or discard the changes before continuing.

Improved Survey Saved Notification (RI-6839)

The confirmation message displayed after saving a survey has been updated to a toast-style notification. This is a small, temporary message that appears on the upper right corner of the screen to confirm an action or provide a brief update. This provides a clearer and less disruptive confirmation that the survey was saved successfully.

Improved Signed Consent Status Workflow (RI-6890)

The workflow for moving participants between the Potential and Enrolled lists based on whether or not the participant has signed a Consent Form has been improved to resolves issues with the confirmation prompts and status selection, specifically when there are unsaved changes on the participant profile card.

When a participant has signed the Consent Form and is in the Potential list, users will be prompted to move the participant to Enrolled. If confirmed, the participant card will move to the first status on the Enrolled page.

When a participant has not signed the Consent Form and is in the Enrolled list, users will be prompted to move the participant to Potential. If confirmed, the participant card will move to the first status on the Potential page.

Audit Log Improvements and New Filters (RI-6880, RI-6879)

The Audit Log has been updated to make activity easier to review and navigate. The page now includes improved readability, updated pagination controls, and a new option to select how many rows appear on each page.

  • Select the number of Audit Log records displayed on each page.
  • Navigate through Audit Log pages more reliably.
  • Filter the Audit Log to view downloaded activity.
  • Filter the Audit Log to view deleted activity.
  • Review activity using an updated, easier-to-read page layout.

Bug Fixes

Report Exports After Unsaved Changes (RI-6885)

Resolved an issue in Report Builder where a report could fail to download after the user changed the report configuration and selected Export.  The unsaved-changes notification will no longer prevent the report results from downloading.

Verified Address Required Indicator (RI-6854)

Resolved an issue where parts of a Verified Address question were still required even when the question was not configured as required. 

Participant Status Changes Through Surveys (RI-6847)

Resolved an issue where changing a participant’s status through an internal survey could cause the participant to temporarily disappear from the Potential Participants or Enrolled Participants list. The participant will now remain visible in the appropriate Potential/Enrolled participant list without requiring the user to refresh the page.

Invalid Merge Tags in Email Templates (RI-6833)

Improved the validation of merge tags used in email templates. Previously, an email template containing an invalid merge tag could be saved but might later fail to open and display an unclear error message. Email templates containing an invalid merge tag will now be prevented from saving, and EnrollNow will display an error message so the merge tag can be corrected by the user creating the template.

Consistent Unsaved-Changes Notifications (RI-6829)

The unsaved-changes notifications will now appear more consistently when a user attempts to leave a page after making changes that have not been saved.

Survey Creator Question and Action Menus (RI-6824)

Resolved an issue in the Survey Creator Logic editor where the All Question Types and All Action Types menus remained open until the user selected an option.

Users can now close these menus by:

  • Selecting an option.
  • Clicking outside the menu.
  • Pressing the Escape key.

Editing Miscellaneous Study Tasks (RI-6823)

Resolved an issue that prevented users from saving changes to an existing Miscellaneous Task.  Previously, the Miscellaneous Task Group field did not display the available options when a user opened the task for editing. The field will now populate correctly so the task can be updated and saved.

Task Due Date Default Value (RI-6809)

Resolved an issue where an existing task could display a default due date even when the due date field was not required and no due date had previously been selected.

Duplicate Custom Variable Names (RI-6762)

Resolved an issue that allowed Study Administrators to create multiple custom variables with the same name within a study.

EnrollNow will now display a warning when a user:

  • Creates a custom variable with the same name as an existing variable.
  • Renames a custom variable using a name that is already in use.

Editing Incomplete Survey Logic Rules (RI-6751)

Resolved an issue that could prevent a user from editing a survey logic rule after a variable connected to the target question was removed. Survey Creator will now display an error identifying the incomplete rule and allow the user to open and correct it.

Empty Contact Names in Participant Imports (RI-6701)

Resolved an issue that allowed an empty contact record to be created during a participant import. EnrollNow will now display a validation error when an imported participant row includes contact information but does not include a value in the contact name field.
